Self 2.0 on Sacrifice

Anyone wondering about my Lenten observance - namely giving up sleeping inside for the entire 40 days of Lent, I made a video describing a little bit about what I learned and experienced.

Check it out:

I'm also working on a new website, reviving the old so I can have a hub for all my stuff to go to, look for that in a few weeks.

  1. Really funny treatment of an important topic...wait, that sounds bad, but you know what I mean, right?

Anyway, answers to the episode questions:

    1) NDE? No. I've had a couple of brushes with NDE's, namely a couple of would've-been fatal car accidents that, through Providence, divine intervention, or just some damn good reflexes and spot on driving, never actually happened.

    2) Coldest weather I've ever been in was near Chicago one Christmas...the wind-chill factor was -80 degrees (possibly just in the gusts, though). I was bundled up, though, so I didn't suffer it.

    3) Longest not sleeping on a bed is probably a week or two, tops, due to camping trips. Some of the beds I've had have been small, most of them on the floor, but a mattress is a mattress, yo. It counts.

    4) In the past I donated food to a local operation that distributed food to homeless people around Gainesville, and have occasionally donated knitted winter-wear like scarves/hats, but I don't volunteer on a regular basis. My focus tends to be on women's issues, and over the years I've coordinated or been involved with many fund-raisers and awareness-raisers. To answer your question, I could probably do more.
